Ukuleles

The Ukulele group started off Mass Appeal with a wonderful group of players directed by the lovely Kate Ferris. This year, the Mass Appeal Ukuleles performed in front of Écobuage, one of the coziest pieces in the City of Winnipeg’s public art collection. We were concerned it might be cold but with the fire burning and the musicians strumming, we were all warmed by the music and the fire.

Strings

Another wonderful performance in front of Cliff Eyland’s piece Untitled, at the Millennium Library.

Musical Director Leanne Zacharias led a group of young and old who played beautifully together. Winnipeggers might have come to the library for a book but they stayed to listen to Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major.

Accordions

A rainy night in Winnipeg did not stop these hard core Accordion players from keeping up with musical director Stephen Kiz and his wonderful musicians. The venue was changed from outside to Red River College and who knew The Bird Dance would be such a great way for students to take a break.

Choir

Folks arriving in Winnipeg were treated to a delightful sounding choir backed by a three piece band, as they got off the plane at the Winnipeg International Airport. Musical Director Ben Campbell chose some perfect songs to get us all thinking about home.
